Q2. Which parts of the property will be inspected?

The Operative will need access to the consumer unit (fuseboard) inside your property, it its located under the stairs or in a cupboard please clear the area prior to our attendance.  Our Operative will  check some of the switches/sockets in a variety of rooms, you don’t need to move anything, they will check those most easily accessible.  We will also check/upgrade smoke detectors & extractor fans as required.

Q3. How often do these electrical checks have to be carried out.?

This landlords electrical safety inspection is carried out every five years.  If you’ve received a letter from the Council, it means they require the inspection to be carried out.  Once the council are in possession of a ‘satisfactory’ electrical certificate this shouldn’t need doing again for another five years.
